Experience: Diane B. Dixon is senior vice president of Communications and Corporate Affairs for Avery Dennison Corporation. She was named to her current position in December 2000. Dixon joined Avery Dennison in 1982 as director of Corporate Communications and was named vice president of Corporate Communications in November 1985. She reports to Dean A. Scarborough, chairman, president, and chief executive officer. As senior vice president, Communications and Corporate Affairs, Dixon is responsible for the strategic direction and management of all aspects of corporate communications and government relations programs, including financial, shareholder, and investor communications, corporate and brand advertising, employee communications, media and community relations, public affairs, special corporate activities, charitable contributions, corporate and brand identity, and communications liaison with worldwide operating divisions. She also serves as president of the Board of Trustees of the Avery Dennison Foundation, where she supervises, directs, and controls the Foundation's business activities. Dixon is a member of the Board of Directors and chair of Women Leaders, United Way of Greater Los Angeles. She is a member of the Board of Directors for ALS of Greater Los Angeles; KCET; and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. She received her bachelor's of arts degree (cum laude) in political science from the University of Southern California in 1973.
